Robert Boneberg

Robert has been an advocate for international human rights for many years, with a particular focus on seeking to end modern slavery in all its forms. Bob is Senior Campaign and Policy Counsel at Freedom United.
He also serves as General Counsel to the NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking, where he also served as Co-Chair of the Slave-Free Commerce Committee. He is the former Board Chair of Free the Slaves. In addition, Bob served as Board President of the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation. Bob has served as Chair of the International Human Rights Committee of the NY State Bar Association, International Law and Practice Section, and as a member of the International Human Rights Committee of the New York City Bar Association.
Bob began his professional career in Buffalo, NY, where he worked as a street gang social worker and later as a Senior Legislative Assistant to the Buffalo Common Council. After law school, Bob advocated for clients in a broad range of business and commercial litigation. While a partner at Lowenstein Sandler, he served as Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee and as a member of the Pro Bono Committee of the NJ State Bar Association. Bob has acted as a mediator in the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of New York, New York County, as a mediator in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and as an arbitrator at FINRA. He has served as a member of the Permanent Judicial Commission of the Presbytery of Northeast New Jersey, Presbyterian Church (USA).
Bob has a B.A. from S.U.N.Y. Geneseo, a M.S.W. from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo, and a J.D. from New York Law School.
